Kindergarten read Go Away Big Green Monster and as I read, they pointed out different Geometric Shapes. We then talked about all the shapes we saw that didn't have names like those wiggly arms and the squiggly nose. Those are called Organic Shapes.
Students received bins of cut out geometric shapes. They arranged them onto their black paper to create their monster body. Then students used oil pastels to draw on organic shapes.
Students watched a clip from Monsters Inc. And we studied the doors. Students made doors and attached them to their monsters so they would be in the closet!
