Starting my second year in my art room was a lot of fun! I was able to really focus on how to arrange the room for the best use of space and to make moving around the room as easy as possible! As you art teachers out there know, figuring out how to organize all those supplies is half the battle.
Here are some pictures of my room all ready for the first day! My room does not have much wall space but it has a ton of storage space (believe me I am not complaining!) So all of my visuals are on bulletin board paper and hanging on the front of the cabinets.
Here I have our Class guidelines "Ways to be A Great Artists" These aren't necessarily our rules but ways we want to act in order to have a great art class and of course make great art! Next to that is our Noise Meter- This I really hope to make a point of using a little more this year! I found this on Pinterest once upon a time and love the idea! Each level of noise is associated with a painting. 0 Being the Mona Lisa and 5 being the Scream. The kids seem to really catch onto this! To the right I have some informative boards for the students. Below are the elements of art and principles of design displays. I just redid them this summer and like how to word demonstrates the element and principle.

This is the students main board! At the end of each class, everyone waits with big anticipation to see if they get their "Clip up" for the day. Each clothespin has the class names on them- If they have a great art class... It gets clipped up a crayon. The clips can also stay where they are or move down depending on behavior. When a class gets to 10, they get to choose their own art project! This is so much fun for all of us! They come up with the best ideas and these projects usually end up being my favorite of the year! We have done anything from airplanes to splatter paint to group sculptures.
