BackDrops, Murals & Bulletin Boards

For Various School Concerts, Assemblies, or Holidays the Art Teacher is called upon to beautify the Space.  Although it is time consuming, it is one of my favorite things to do!

Below, we are making a Backdrop for the Winter Concert.  We also made Giant Sparkly Snowflakes to hang up on the stage.

This Backdrop, I made for the Black History Month Concert & it focuses on the different kinds of music that will be highlighted in the concert!

The other Specialists and I organized the First Annual Spring Multimedia Art Show.  I made the Backdrop and then added the first graders butterflies to the Banner.

This is a good idea for a bulletin board in September when kids come back to school.  I wrote famous artist's names in the starts and put up some prints
In my room I had an ever changing bulletin board with a featured mystery artist.  I put up prints on the board and facts about the artist.  Eventually the students met the artist and did a project influenced by them.

THis Bulletin Board is geared to the younger grades and introduces them to the art supplies we will be using.

This door was part of a contest  to celebrate Black History month.  I read The Spider Weaver  to my first graders.  THey then wove papers that were added to the door.  We won!

This was a mural I created for the cafeteria.  The cafeteria is such a big plain space, I like to add either artwork or murals in this space to brighten it up!  This was put up to celebrate Black History Month

This year instead of doing a Mystery artist, I chose to just have an Artist of the Month and the students to learn about a new artist each month and usually do a lesson focused on them.

This was a fun Winter Mural I did in the Cafeteria on all the walls.  Although making the huge penguins took awhile, I think it was worth it!
