The Kindergarteners worked together to create a Class Mural.
We read a book about a Family of birds and then the students were to create their own birds
To create our little furry friends, I gave each student a pile of 7 different colored papers. I had the students pick on of their papers and draw a circle- this was to be the bird's head. On the next paper, the students had to draw a big oval for the bird's body and so on. I thought this technique worked very well with this age level because they were still drawing on their own, but they had guidance for each step of the process. All of the kids were happy with their birds and LOVED putting their Bird up on the Tree Branches. It always amazes me how different each student's project is even though they got the same exact instructions!
